Applications
Where vapor-smoothed parts go to work.
PostPro vapor smoothing by AMT (Additive Manufacturing Technologies) seals and smooths 3D printed polymer parts in one automated cycle, so they can be used as finished, end-use parts. Manufacturers use it on prostheses and orthoses, car and motorcycle parts, consumer products, and food-processing and production machinery.

Questions
Questions, answered.
Which industries use vapor smoothing?
Published PostPro case studies come from medical and health (prostheses and orthoses), automotive and motorsport, consumer products, industrial machinery and food processing. Service bureaus also run PostPro systems to finish parts for their customers.
Which 3D printing processes can be vapor smoothed?
PostPro vapor smoothing works on powder-bed parts from HP Multi Jet Fusion (MJF), SLS, SAF and HSS, and on FDM parts on every system: Ultem and Onyx on the desktop SFX and SF2X; Ultem, Onyx, ABS and ASA on the industrial SF50 and SF100.
Which materials can be vapor smoothed?
PA12, PA11, TPU, TPE, Polypropylene (PP) with FA9202, FDM materials and, with FA326 on the SF50 and SF100, more than 100 thermoplastics.
Can vapor-smoothed parts be used in contact with food?
Food-contact compliance depends on the material, the process and the consumable together. Parts printed in FABULOUS DETECT PA11 and smoothed with FA5802 (Pure) met the extractables limits of US FDA 21 CFR §177.1500 in an accredited independent lab: a result for those parts, not a certification. The food contact page has the test and the food-line stories.
Can I buy vapor smoothing as a service?
Ask a PostPro production partner. Production partners offer printing and post-processing services to companies that need a better surface finish, and the partner directory lists them by country and region. Ask each partner which processes it runs.
Can I test my own parts before I buy?
Yes. Send a few of your printed parts to AMT’s benchmarking program and they come back vapor smoothed: no cost to evaluate, parts returned, typical turnaround 2–3 weeks.
