# Performance improvements of vapor-smoothed SLS PA2200 parts

A study with Hansgrohe applied AMT vapor smoothing to SLS PA2200 parts to improve their quality and performance, measuring strength, surface roughness, dimensions and burst pressure.

## Mechanical strength

Vapor smoothing increased tensile strength and elongation at break, improving the durability of the printed components.[1]

## Surface quality

Surface roughness fell by up to 71% across different orientations, a high-quality finish without manual work.[1]

## Precision

Dimensional variation after post-processing was very low, a maximum change of 0.4%, well within the tolerances expected from standard 3D printing processes.[1]

## Watertightness

Average bursting pressure rose by up to 7%, improving watertightness and part longevity.[1]
